The LCAP training series will provide participants information and training on the conceptual and technical shifts of the new Local Control Accountability Plan template (2020-2023 Plan), including (but not limited to) technical changes, philosophies behind the new template, communication and talking points plan to all stakeholders, and discussion around what worked/did not work in the old template that are lessons learned for the new template. The trainings are designed for all those involved in the writing and development of the LCAP. Business and Curriculum and Instruction staff from PCOE will provide the training. PBIS Tier II training consists of four team training days. This training will address the needs of students requiring higher levels of support than Tier I interventions. Teams will learn to identify student needs, develop and implement Tier II interventions for students, including Check In Check Out and the Strong Kids Social Emotional Learning program. Teams will also learn how to evaluate both the fidelity and outcomes of interventions and develop the foundations of a strong intervention data team.

Mental Health First Aid is an interactive 8-hour course that presents an overview of mental illness and disorders in the United States. Participants will learn about risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, as well as understand their impact and common treatments. Participants who certify as Mental Health First Aiders learn a 5-step action plan encompassing the skills, resources and knowledge to help an individual in crisis connect with appropriate professional, peer, social, and self- help care.
THIS TRAINING IS RECOMMENDED FOR:
Sheriff Departments, State Police, Corrections Officer and Local Law Enforcement, State and Local Policy Makers, School Personnel and Educators, Employers and Business Leaders, Support Staff, Nursing Home Staff, Emergency Response Personnel, Faith Community Members and Volunteers.
Registration is required and participants must complete both or one days to earn their certificate(some classes are held over two days 4 hours each day). Please do not sign up for a date session that you can not fully commit to.
