Placer County Office of Education hosts quarterly Multilingual Learner Coordinator Network (MLCN) meetings. These meetings were formerly known as the English Learner Coordinators’ Network or ELCN. The MLCN provides local district educators who coordinate services for English learners and dual language programs with the opportunity to obtain relevant information about English learner issues, up to date guidance and a chance to brainstorm and network with other districts.

Pulling from NAEYC’s publication, Serious Fun: How Guided Play Extends Children's Learning, this online learning experience offers guidance on how to, interact with children during play, carefully evaluate teaching practices, and incorporate meaningful play opportunities into rigorous and developmentally appropriate practices that can result in deep, rich learning for children.

ASIST is a two-day suicide intervention skills
workshop where participants learn to intervene and help prevent the immediate risk of suicide. Workshop features include presentation and guidance from two LivingWorks registered trainers, a scientifically proven intervention model, powerful
audiovisual learning aids, group discussion, proactive skills development, and a balance of challenge and safety.


PLEASE NOTE: ASIST is a fully immersive, interactive suicide prevention training. Participants will be asked to share their personal experiences and engage in intensive skills practice. Please take this into consideration prior to registering.

Open to anyone 16+. Please note: to maintain the fidelity of the training, we cannot permit more than 3-5 from one organization/district in each training.
