The PCOE State and Federal Programs Network meets monthly following the CDE State and Federal Directors meeting. We provide current and accurate information for program directors responsible for oversight of federal categorical programs and state requirements. Meetings include pertinent and timely information on topics related to categorical needs, programs, compliance, and other related items. In addition, the meetings provide an opportunity to meet and share ideas with people who have similar responsibilities within other Local Educational Agencies (LEAs).

Placer County Office of Education hosts quarterly Multilingual Learner Coordinator Network (MLCN) meetings. These meetings were formerly known as the English Learner Coordinators’ Network or ELCN. The MLCN provides local district educators who coordinate services for English learners and dual language programs with the opportunity to obtain relevant information about English learner issues, up to date guidance and a chance to brainstorm and network with other districts. ASIST is a two-day suicide intervention skills workshop where participants learn to intervene and help prevent the immediate
risk of suicide. Workshop features include presentation and guidance from two LivingWorks registered trainers, a scientifically proven intervention model, powerful audiovisual learning aids, group discussion, proactive skills development, and a balance of challenge and safety. PLEASE NOTE ASIST is a fully immersive, interactive suicide prevention training. Participants will be asked to share their personal experiences and engage in intensive skills practice. Please take this into consideration prior to registering. Open to anyone 16+. Please note: to maintain the fidelity of the training, we cannot permit more than 3-5 from one organization/district in each training. $25 due at registration. Father Figures Are Invited - Please join us for the Virtual Father Literacy Project meeting for the project is being held virtually via zoom and will be presented by Steven Bruce, PCOE Early Childhood Specialist and Daniel Mendoza, Site Supervisor.
Father’s (father figures) play a critical role in their child’s early literacy development through reading books with their child, engaging in conversation, and sharing stories. Fathers, please join us from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm as we learn about the importance of early literacy and gain strategies on how to get your child excited about books! These trainings will be held virtually via Zoom and will be presented by Steven Bruce, PCOE | ECE Early Childhood Specialist.
All participants will receive free children’s books and early literacy materials to read to their children. Simultaneous Spanish interpretation provided.
