The PCOE State and Federal Programs Network meets monthly following the CDE State and Federal Directors meeting. We provide current and accurate information for program directors responsible for oversight of federal categorical programs and state requirements. Meetings include pertinent and timely information on topics related to categorical needs, programs, compliance, and other related items. In addition, the meetings provide an opportunity to meet and share ideas with people who have similar responsibilities within other Local Educational Agencies (LEAs).

Beginner ASL Class (Lessons 1–8 – Lifeprint.com Curriculum)
This 8-week beginner American Sign Language course is taught live on Zoom by a native ASL user. Using the Lifeprint (ASL University) curriculum as a guide, the class introduces foundational vocabulary, fingerspelling, basic sentence structure, numbers, and essential conversational skills. Each session includes interactive practice, guided activities, and opportunities to ask questions in real time.
The class is taught in ASL with English interpretation, ensuring full accessibility for new learners. No prior ASL experience is required—perfect for complete beginners who want a supportive, engaging start to their signing journey.

Intermediate ASL Class
This 8- week intermediate American Sign Language class is taught live on Zoom by a native ASL user and is designed for students who have completed a beginner course or already have basic knowledge of ASL. Building on core skills, the class expands your vocabulary, strengthens your receptive ASL abilities, and introduces short story practice to develop more natural, fluent communication. Each session includes interactive practice, guided activities, and opportunities to ask questions in real time.
Sessions are taught in ASL, with English Interpretation.  This is an engaging, supportive next step for learners ready to deepen their skills and gain greater confidence in understanding and using ASL.

Placer County Office of Education hosts quarterly Multilingual Learner Coordinator Network (MLCN) meetings. These meetings were formerly known as the English Learner Coordinators’ Network or ELCN.
