The PCOE State and Federal Programs Network meets monthly following the CDE State and Federal Directors meeting. We provide current and accurate information for program directors responsible for oversight of federal categorical programs and state requirements. Meetings include pertinent and timely information on topics related to categorical needs, programs, compliance, and other related items. In addition, the meetings provide an opportunity to meet and share ideas with people who have similar responsibilities within other Local Educational Agencies (LEAs).

Leading CTE Systems: Designing Pathways for All Learners is a hybrid professional learning network for administrators and systems leaders committed to expanding access to high-quality CTE pathways. Meeting monthly in person or virtually, participants will collaborate to identify barriers, share resources, and apply systems-level strategies to universally design career pathways aligned with workforce needs. This network offers a space to deepen learning, exchange ideas, and support the design of student-centered, future-ready programs.

This 9-session professional learning series, designed for Kindergarten through 2nd-grade teachers, will focus on accelerating early literacy development through evidence-based instructional practices. Meeting once a month for two hours from August through May, participants will engage with research-backed strategies to strengthen foundational reading skills.
The series will incorporate content from the Getting Reading Right® modules by the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) and evidence-based practices from the California Collaborative for Learning Acceleration (CCLA), led by the Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE). Additionally, participants will receive a copy of 7 Mighty Moves by Lindsey Kemeny, which will serve as a key resource throughout the series. Assigned chapters will be read in advance to deepen discussions and application of high-impact literacy strategies. Through this collaborative learning experience, educators will gain practical tools to enhance early literacy instruction, strengthen assessment practices, and support all students in becoming confident, proficient readers. Placer County Office of Education hosts quarterly Multilingual Learner Coordinator Network (MLCN) meetings. These meetings were formerly known as the English Learner Coordinators’ Network or ELCN. The MLCN provides local district educators who coordinate services for English learners and dual language programs with the opportunity to obtain relevant information about English learner issues, up to date guidance and a chance to brainstorm and network with other districts.

PBIS Tier 2 Supplemental Training days are intended for sites that have already participated in PBIS Tier 1 and Tier 2 training and have Tier 1 and Tier 2 elements already in use at the school site (an intervention team, regular Tier 2/3 meetings, a variety of interventions offered, and data decision rules).
* A Tier 2 TFI score of 50% or higher is generally recommended.

Join our professional development session to explore integrating number sense routines into your classroom. This session will enhance your understanding of number sense and equip you with practical routines to accelerate learning. You'll walk away with strategies for providing "just in time" support to foster mathematical language, helping students effectively communicate and reflect on their thinking around number concepts.
In This Session, You Will Learn: - What Learning Acceleration is and how evidence based practices support the development of mathematical concepts, - Visual Routines: Activities that use visual aids to deepen number understanding. - Counting Routines: Engaging exercises to reinforce counting skills and number sequences. - Playing with Quantities: Fun, hands-on activities that help students explore and understand quantities. Participants may be eligible for financial support of substitute costs, based on region. This is made available through the California Collaborative for Learning Acceleration (CCLA) for full attendance. Applications for financial support will be emailed to you shortly after registration.
