The PCOE State and Federal Programs Network meets monthly following the CDE State and Federal Directors meeting. We provide current and accurate information for program directors responsible for oversight of federal categorical programs and state requirements. Meetings include pertinent and timely information on topics related to categorical needs, programs, compliance, and other related items. In addition, the meetings provide an opportunity to meet and share ideas with people who have similar responsibilities within other Local Educational Agencies (LEAs).

Placer County Office of Education hosts quarterly Multilingual Learner Coordinator Network (MLCN) meetings. These meetings were formerly known as the English Learner Coordinators’ Network or ELCN. The MLCN provides local district educators who coordinate services for English learners and dual language programs with the opportunity to obtain relevant information about English learner issues, up to date guidance and a chance to brainstorm and network with other districts. Sept. 11th: Session 1: Foundations of UDL, PBIS and Restorative Practices Nov. 13th: Session 2: Applying UDL and Restorative Practices when Creating and Teaching Schoolwide Expectations and Routines Jan. 22nd: Session 3: Applying UDL and Restorative Practices when Creating and Implementing Acknowledgement Systems March 4th: Session 4: Responding to Unwanted Behavior using Restorative Practices Session 1: Participants will develop an understanding of why integrating UDL, PBIS and Restorative Practices is optimal for creating inclusive contexts that support ALL learners. Session 2: Participants will understand the importance of building community and a sense of belonging when developing schoolwide expectations. Participants will understand how to universally design their teaching so that ALL students can benefit from learning opportunities related to schoolwide expectations. Session 3: Participants will understand how to universally design an acknowledgment system that has the highest likelihood of increasing and maintaining the school expectations for ALL learners (including how to adapt and/or intensify the use of behavior specific praise and tickets when indicated). Session 4: Participants will learn to apply a UDL lens and restorative approach when designing and implementing their continuum of responses to unwanted behaviors. PCOE presents a FREE professional learning series aimed at assisting educational leaders in implementing effective learning acceleration systems and strategies within their sites. Learning acceleration empowers educators to meet each student where they are at while guaranteeing access to grade-level material. The initial session serves as a cornerstone, grounding the work in best practices and enabling the creation of practical, needs-driven implementation plans.

In 12 or 18 months, candidates can earn an administrative credential. Additionally, candidates have the option of obtaining a Master's Degree in Education with an Educational Administration Emphasis through the University of Massachusetts Global (formerly Brandman) with an additional year of coursework.
