In this 5-day workshop, we focus on building thinking classrooms (BTC). Delve into the four research-based toolkits shown to foster active learning, engagement, and mathematical thinking in any classroom setting. Explore how to integrate the 3 Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Signature Practices into your routines, and how they can help you fine tune your thinking classroom by enhancing student belonging and motivation. Twice in this series, you will participate in a team-driven Task Study utilizing summer school classrooms. Deepen your understanding of the macro & micro moves found in the (BTC) practices so that you can apply them in your own classroom.

School readiness involves more than just children. Overall, school readiness is about children, families, early environments, schools, and communities. Children are not innately “ready” or “not ready” for school. Their skills and development are strongly influenced by their families and through their interactions with other people and environments before coming to school. Join us to learn more about Kindergarten standards, end of year expectations, and how to best support the children in your care for their transition to elementary school.
