As an early care and education provider, you play a critical role in the health and well being of children. You are also very well positioned to help identify children who might need extra help in their development. This FREE, online training course, Watch Me! Celebrating Milestones and Sharing Concerns, helps you fulfill this role by providing tools and best practices for monitoring the development of children in your care and talking about it with their parents. The Coaching for Equity Institute is a 3 hour zoom course for new or experienced coaches, teacher leaders, administrators and managers. Participants will deepen their own coaching practices with a focus on educational equity while practicing equity-based conversations with each other. Participants will learn a range of coaching tools and skills including: understanding the language of equity-based conversations, using the coaching lenses to level-up your questioning, coaching emotions in equity conversations, trust-building, and coaching beliefs. This Coaching for Equity Institute course will draw upon principles of adult learning and mindfulness to facilitate a deep and energizing learning experience for all.

Course Description:

Mental Health First Aid is an interactive 8-hour course that presents an overview of mental illness and disorders in the United States. Participants will learn about risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, as well as understand their impact and common treatments. Participants who certify as Mental Health First Aiders learn a 5-step action plan encompassing the skills, resources and knowledge to help an individual in crisis connect with appropriate professional, peer, social, and self- help care.


THIS TRAINING IS RECOMMENDED FOR:

Sheriff Departments, State Police, Corrections Officer and Local Law Enforcement, State and Local Policy Makers, School Personnel and Educators, Employers and Business Leaders, Support Staff, Nursing Home Staff, Emergency Response Personnel, Faith Community Members and Volunteers.


Registration is required and participants must complete both or one days to earn their certificate(some classes are held over two days 4 hours each day). Please do not sign up for a date session that you can not fully commit to.


The Placer County Office of Education, in a unique collaboration with Placer County Health and Human Services, Roseville Joint Union High School District,and the Latino Leadership Council, are working to improve mental health outcomes for individuals, families and our community. These trainings are facilitated by a collaborative training team made up of these partners and with funding, in part, by the County of Placer Mental Health Service Act.
