English Learner Series - Writing IEPs
 
This second part of the EL Series will focus on writing IEPs for students designated as English Learners, including linguistically appropriate goals and the assessment and support page of the IEP. Attendees will have opportunities to practice writing these sections of the IEP in SIRAS to ensure compliance with special education codes and a full understanding of the supports in SIRAS for EL students. Participants will: - know what information is required on IEP documents for students reported as English Learners (EL) - understand how SIRAS is set up to support the inclusion of required components in an IEP for an EL student - be able to compliantly write an IEP for a student designated as EL This training is intended for Special Education Providers and Administrators. **Attendance at the other EL Series trainings is not required, but is encouraged. PBIS Tier 2 training consists of four days of team training and will guide teams in addressing the needs of students requiring higher levels of support. Teams will learn to identify student needs, develop and implement Tier 2 interventions for students, including both Check In Check Out and the Strong Kids Social Emotional Learning (SEL) program. Teams will also learn how to evaluate both the fidelity and outcomes of interventions and develop the foundations of a strong intervention data team. A representative team from the school site attends the training, and then leads Tier 2 implementation. Readiness recommendation: Completion of PBIS Tier 1 Training, or Tier 1 TFI score of 50% or higher. Cost: Participating schools must be in contract with PCOE. Please see PCOE contract for details.
